The spool is injection molded using glass filled nylon which is stronger than traditional ABS providing a durable core. This core is bolted to an aircraft grade aluminum handle using a one piece stainless steel shaft and is controlled by a stainless steel lockdown screw. All parts are engineered with the strictest tolerances which eliminate line traps or failures.

Machined from solid Delrin to achieve precise tolerances and assembled using braided Dupont Dacron Hi-Viz line. This abrasion resistant line has slight negative buoyancy, also resists twisting or kinking and has minimal stretch. Our Hi-Viz Dacron line is stronger than #36 nylon and thinner than #24 nylon which allows more while still compact. The convertible spool can easily be switched from a reel configuration to a finger spool in minutes. This unique design is perfect as a safety, gap or jump reel. Or combine this spool with an SMB for those floating deco stops.
